Rhine Cruise

As my German holiday was coming to a close, I took a cruise from Koblenz to Rudesheim along the most scenic part of the Rhine, enjoying the weather, the scenery and the beer.

These were all shot from the deck of a moving ship, often into the face of an uncooperative sun, with a portable camera and under the influence of a steadily increasing number of fine German drafts. In the circumstances, I’m fairly pleased with the results.

It’s a good thing I was shooting digital, though. The number of images that didn’t make the cut would have broken my heart if I’d been shooting film.

Maybe one day I’ll get around to seeing how many of them can be salvaged with a little extra effort in Photoshop.
